OUR CURRICULUM
WHAT WE DO
EduAcademia proudly follows the CAPS curriculum as outlined by the Department of Education. This curriculum is designed to help learners acquire knowledge and skills that are meaningful to their own lives, while also being sensitive to global imperatives and local contexts.
Learners experience the curriculum across 9 to 11 weeks per term, with assessments, projects, exams and cycle tests seamlessly integrated into their learning journey to ensure a balanced and comprehensive approach to education.
In the Foundation Phase, our learners hold the “magic key” to developing a lifelong love for reading through the Oxford Reading Tree programme. This carefully structured system introduces synthetic phonics to build strong reading foundations. The Oxford Reading Tree collection, including both fiction and non-fiction titles, allows learners to engage with reading at their own pace, fostering fluency and confidence.
In the Intermediate and Senior Phases, our learners work with Platinum, Spot On and Sonder Grense CAPS-approved textbooks, providing a rich, visually engaging and comprehensive learning experience. They are exposed to a wide range of reading materials across various genres, while curriculum-related texts are researched, read and discussed in class, strengthening both their literacy and research skills.
At EduAcademia, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Each learner is registered at the Boskruin Library, receiving their own library card and visiting at least once a term to explore new books and further cultivate their love for reading.
We also place a strong emphasis on physical development, introducing Yoga and Cross Country as part of our Physical Education Programme. In addition, Music, Coding, and Robotics form part of our broader Enrichment Programme, offering both practical and theoretical components. These subjects are included in our monthly school fees, ensuring that every child enjoys a well-rounded and engaging educational experience.
