OUR CURRICULUM
WHAT WE DO
EduAcademia follows the CAPS curriculum as outlined by the Department of Education. This curriculum is designed to help learners acquire knowledge and skills that are meaningful to their own lives, while also being sensitive to global imperatives and local contexts.
Our learners experience the curriculum over 8 to 11 weeks each term, with assessments, projects, exams, and cycle tests integrated into their learning journey.
In the Foundation Phase, our learners have the “magic key” to developing a lifelong love of reading through the Oxford Reading Tree. This program introduces them to synthetic phonics, ensuring they secure strong reading foundations. The Oxford Reading Tree collection, which includes both fiction and non-fiction, helps children engage with reading while developing fluency at their own pace. These books are carefully crafted to support every child’s reading progress.
In the Intermediate and Senior Phase, our learners work with the Platinum, Spot On and Sonder Grense CAPS-approved textbooks, offering a rich and visually engaging curriculum. Our students are exposed to a wide variety of reading materials, covering different genres. They also enjoy curriculum-related books that are researched, read and discussed in class, enhancing both their general reading and research skills.
We also believe in fostering a love for learning outside of the classroom. Our learners are registered at the Boskruin Library, where they each receive their own library card. They visit the library at least once a month to explore new books and foster their love of reading. Additionally, our learners enjoy tennis lessons at the Boskruin Tennis Club as part of our commitment to encouraging physical activity.
To further enrich our learners’ education, we also offer Music lessons that include both theory and practical work, as well as Coding and Robotics. These exciting subjects are included within our monthly school fees, ensuring a well-rounded, engaging experience for every child at EduAcademia.
